Building Confidence

I came across this article about how to build your child's confidence through activities.  Once you get through the back story about teeth (relevant as it may be...) there is a nice list of ideas.  This is something I have run into frequently as the academic requirements of kindergarten have become more rigorous.  Five and six year olds want to do it 'right' and if they can't, they are often afraid to try.  We spend much of the first semester (and possibly longer) encouraging children to make those academic mistakes...to try, to do what they can, to do THEIR best - not the 'grown up' best.  And once student's discover the freedom in making mistakes, they are able to learn so much more!  I hope you find some great ideas in this article as well!
